The Automated Analysis of Locomotion (AAL) is a video based system leading to an automated reconstruction of a gait sequence over a treadmill corridor. AAL offers the advantage to collect data on the kinematics of normal locomotion and locomotion deficits observed in CNS disorders.
This technology enables to quantify classic parameters such as cadence, step duration or step length but also parameters which cannot be detected by a human eye like stance and swing duration and joint angle variations during walking.
